Qatar’s latest initiative, the North Field West expansion, will incorporate an additional 16Mtpa of LNG capacity. This will lift national capacity from 77Mtpa to 142Mtpa by 2030. We assume there is a good potential this project will be delivered close to schedule.
North Field’s new estimates suggest an additional 6.80Tcm of gas, elevating Qatar's gas reserves from 21.5Tcm to over 56.6Tcm.      Oman’s Marsa LNG  In April, The Oman National Oil Company announced the Final Investment Decision for the Marsa LNG project. The facility will be entirely electrically powered with 300MW PV solar energy.  Marsa LNG is set to take 4.24MMcmpd of natural gas extracted from the Mabrouk North-East field situated in onshore Block 10. The field’s operations commenced in January 2023 and achieved peak production in April 2024. The FID grants Marsa LNG rights in Block 10 until 2050.
